Heimat: a noun. a place that you can call home; includes a sense of belongingness, acceptance, safety and connection to the homeland.

“Every fifth person inn Germany comes from an immigration background and that number will continue to climb” (Spiegel, 2018). In December 2022, the Bundestag will debate a new draft law to allow dual German citizenship for residents with non-EU nationality - without having to sacrifice their other citizenship(s).
