ANHW Early College Awareness (ECA) Program
Interested in inspiring the next generation of global leaders? Participate in our ANHW Early College Awareness (ECA) Program!
ECA is an alumni-engagement initiative of the Harvard Alumni Association that promotes pursuing college, secondary education and career development for low-income students, first generation students and students from underserved communities.
Through ECA, ANHW members can play a more active role in their local and global communities by inspiring students to continue their education, discussing their career journeys and specific career expertise, and by motivating students to reach their career aspirations.
ANHW ECA MODELS
The focus of ANHW’s ECA programs are global, creative, and relevant to our specific communities, highlighting the following models:
ANHW School: Chapter/DSG plans a virtual or in-person ECA event in collaboration with a local school.
ANHW Harvard Club: Chapter/DSG plans a virtual or in-person ECA event with the local Harvard Club and a school in their community.
ANHW Community: Chapter/DSG collaborates on planning a virtual or in-person ECA event with community partners.
ANHW Mentoring Program: Chapter/DSG partners with an established mentoring program or initiates mentoring connections in their communities.
ANHW Career Journey Mentor: Share your story! Be a Career Journey Mentor speaking to students as a presenter or on a career day panel.
LEADING BY EXAMPLE
Prior activities in which ANHW members have been involved have included:
ECA events with Harvard Club of Westchester and Harvard Club of Chicago;
mentoring young women through the Her Honor Mentoring program;
serving as Career Journey Mentors in the Girl Up Greater Boston Coalition-ANHW virtual Global Career Forum;
and conducting “Finding Your Voice” workshops with young women in Spain.
