ANHW Boston presents Women, Work, and Caregiving: A virtual conversation with Professor Claudia Goldin, Daisy Dowling, and Usha Ranji

ANHW Boston Chapter, in collaboration with ANHW Toronto, present this Conversation.

Join us virtually for a conversation on how our contemporary crises have affected women as they strive to sustain their roles as breadwinners and caregivers. Our panelists are:

•        Professor Claudia Goldin (Henry Lee Professor of Economics at Harvard University): The first woman to be a full professor in Harvard’s economics department and the leading expert on changes in US women's workforce participation over the last 200 years.

•        Daisy Dowling (HBS ’02, and author of “Workparent: The Complete Guide to Succeeding on the Job, Staying True to Yourself, and Raising Happy Kids”): A business leader turned executive coach, Daisy runs a boutique coaching and training firm that provides guidance and advice to working parents and the companies who employ them.

•        Usha Ranji (HSPH ’98, Associate Director of Women’s Health Policy at KFF): A nationally renowned researcher who works to understand the impact of major health policy issues on women and girls, with an emphasis on insurance coverage, access to care, and low-income populations.

This panel of experts will discuss the impact of this past year of innumerable crises, disruptions, and challenges experienced by a great many women. We look to explore lessons learned, describe practical advice for managing work-life balance, and bring forward ideas on how to improve the world for women of all races, types, and creeds. We will encourage questions from the audience and will also provide breakout sessions for participants to further explore the pressing issues presented by our panelists.

This session will be moderated by Casey Fee (HSPH ’11), Steering Committee Member of the ANHW Boston Chapter.
