ANHW Midwest presents
Purposeful Dialog Session: Civil Society and the Social with Susan Oberman
Saturday, June 29th
12:00 noon CST (1:00 PM EST)
Visit with us and learn how listening for commonalities and suspending personal reactions can increase your understanding of how others see things – Arendt’s concept of “going visiting” in other’s standpoints -- and how we might view this practice as promoting better judgments based on more information. Developing these skills can help you view differences within your social groups and day-to-day interactions as a source of strength rather than as a threat, and conflict itself as potentially creative rather than merely destructive.Susan is an Associate Fellow at the Hannah Arendt Center at Bard College and the Founder of Common Ground Negotiation Services.
